Frank Stella Painting (With Newman's 'Stations of the Cross' Series), National Gallery East Wing, Washington, DC, 2004.

This room is a pilgrimage spot every time I visit DC, not so much for the Stella, but for all the paintings contained in this expansive gallery. The East Wing, by architect I. M. Pei, opened to the public in 1978 (after four years of construction). It is a remarkable building, one of the great buildings of the 20th Century, and a favorite place to look at art. I'll post more photos of the building - and the art.
