Golden Gate Bridge Cables, 2005.

Seeing the West Coast for the first time, which didn't happen for me until I was 50, was ecstatic. Seeing the Bridge was a revelation, and I spent quite a bit of time around the bridge, over it, on it, under it. I was amazed at how beautiful it was, and also the landscaping around it, and the nearby beaches and cliffs. Nothing really prepared me for it. While standing on a bluff taking this photo, a fellow traveler told me that the circle in the water was from a boat looking for someone who had just lept from the bridge. If you haven't see it yet, I encourage you to see the remarkable film The Bridge, about suicide (in addition to the tragedy, there is some great footage of the bridge in the fog).
